Warangal: With the new districts coming into existence during mid-night hours of Tuesday, the newly appointed district bosses have assumed charge of their posts.Grand ceremonies were organised on the day marking new districts inauguration. Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari inaugurated Warangal Rural district, Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary inaugurated Jayashanker district (Bhupalpalli), Legislative Council Chairman K Swamy Goud inaugurated Jangaon and Tribal Minister A Chandulal inaugurated Mahabubabad district.

The following are the IAS officials who took charge as the district collectors for the new districts: Warangal Rural - Prashanth Jeevan Patil, Warangal Urban - K Amrapali, Jayashanker (Bhupalpalli) - Akunuri Murali, Jangaon - A Devasena, and Mahabubabad - Preethi Meena.The following are IPS officials who took charge as the superintendents of police for the new districts: Mahabubabad - J Muralidhar, Bhupalpalli - R Bhaskaran, and Warangal Rural, Warangal Urban and Jangaon come under Warangal Police Commissionerate.

The Commissionerate is divided into three zones namely: west zone (Jangaon district), east zone (Warangal Rural) and central zone (Warangal Urban) and they are being headed by deputy police commissioners (Deputy CPs). The newly appointed Deputy CPs of west, east and central zones T Venkanna, Md Ismail and MS Venugopal Rao respectively took charge on Tuesday. Under the police commissionerate five new police stations: Inavolu, Damera, Chelpur, Tariguppula and Veler have also been set up. The following are the officials appointed as joint collectors: S Dayanand- Warangal Urban, M Haritha-Warangal Rural, M Ramkishan- Mahabubabad and Siva Srinivas-Jangaon.

The medical and health department has appointed the district medical and health officers (DMHOs) for the new districts. B Sambasiva Rao-Warangal Urban, Ashok Anand- Warangal Rural, Sri Ram- Mahabubabad, Harish Raj-Jangaon and Appaiah-Bhupalpalli.The TSRTC has appointed GSS Suresh as divisional manager of Warangal (Rural) division and G Ramulu as divisional manager of Warangal (Urban) division.

Meanwhile, the Warangal Rural district Collector Prashanth Patil informed that efforts are being made to set up permanent district collectorate near Azamjahi Mills in Warangal. A temporary collectorate is now set up at I&CAD office in Hanamkonda.The Deputy CM inaugurated Warangal rural collectorate said smaller districts enables faster development and helps to take the administration closer to the people. The districts reorganization has taken place in most scientific manner.He called upon the officials in newly formed districts to work dedicatedly for the welfare of the people and fulfill the government’s objective of offering better governance to the people.
