Khammam: New districts have been carved out as per the whims and fancies of ruling TRS party leaders, CPI (M) State secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram criticized the government. Instead of reorganising districts in a pragmatic manner by adopting a scientific process that would have provided better administrative convenience, the government resorted to use the division for its political benefits,” Tammineni said, addressing a press conference here on Wednesday. Pointing out the split of Adilabad district into four districts, he said that none of them are aimed at protecting the distinct culture of the erstwhile district.

He demanded an explanation from the TRS leaders for their opposition to CPM’s Pada Yatra.Meanwhile, the party has elected Ponnam Venkateswar Rao as the new district secretary of Khammam and Kasani Ailaiah as the new chief of newly created Bhadradri Kothagudem district.Former district secretary P Sudarshan Rao, Bhadrachalam MLA Sunnam Rajaiah and AIKS State joint secretary Nunna Nageswara Rao were among others present.
