Hyderabad: In an attempt to get closer to people, particularly the youth, and reach out to them, the Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) has decided to make use of technology and social media. It will also have its own website.

The proposed website www.telanganajac.org would highlight the views of the JAC on various issues. Social media like Facebook would be used to interact with people and identify the issues which need to be prioritised.

The JAC also proposes to come out with a monthly bulletin in the website detailing the work done by the committee on various public issues. Talking about the need for strengthening the organisation, JAC coordinator P Ravinder said, by the end of October, there would be mandal, districts and state committees in place. A special team would be constituted which would manage the social media, he said.

The website will have an archive in which important events of Telangana agitation like the report of the Srikrishna Committee, Sagara Haram, Million March, JAC reports on various issues and newspaper and video clippings of important issues would be uploaded.

The JAC leaders said that about 30 organisations have shown interest in being part of the State committee which includes representatives from people’s organisations, education, employment, RTC, Singareni, pensioners, journalists, advocates, farmers, civil society groups and others.

The State committee of JAC is also in for restructuring. Presently, there are only two posts one for the chairman and other for coordinator. The new committee would have 15 posts including chairman, co-chairman, convener, co-convener and coordinators.
