The District Collector said that the officials should plant 4 lakh saplings in Nizamabad, Dichpalli, Bhingal and Bodhan mandals and 3 lakh saplings in the remaining mandals. Nizamabad: District Collector Dr Yogitha Rana urged the district officials to work hard with sincerity and commitment in implementing the Haritha Haaram programme successfully in the district and put the Nizamabad district on top again this year, just like that of last year. Addressing a review meeting with the officials of the district Forest department, police, MPDOs, IKP officials, MEOs and officials of the Telangana University at the Pragathi Bhawan in the town on Friday, she said that the officials should take steps to protect the saplings which were planted, till they grow.
The District Collector said that the officials should plant 4 lakh saplings in Nizamabad, Dichpalli, Bhingal and Bodhan mandals and 3 lakh saplings in the remaining mandals. She said that the officials of the Fire Services Department have taken steps to provide water to the saplings planted by the officials of Telangana University campus premises. Fruit orchards and vegetables should be grown in the campus and the State government would sanction funds for growing nurseries, she added.
Collector Rana said that the works relating to the panchayat raj department should be entrusted to the village sarpanches for their completion. Trees should be planted on both sides of the highways and the officials should provide geo-tags, she added. She said that flower gardens should be organised if there is space crunch. The officials should tour the field and assess the situation and submit reports, she said.
The officials of the district Agricultural Department should collect details of the farmers in the district and submit a report to the government, the Colector added. She pulled up the officials of the Endowment Department for their negligence in the implementation of the Haritha Haram programme.
DRDA Venkateshwarlu, Divisional Forest Officer Prasad, Roads &Buildings department official Madhusudan Reddy and officials of the Irrigation department were present.
