Warangal Rural/ Urban: The district collectors of the newly formed districts have started streamlining the functioning of the official mechanism.
The District Collector, Prashanth J Patil held a meeting with the officials allotted to the district at his chambers here on Friday. He asked the district officials to ensure that all the government offices start working on full-scale within a couple of days.During the interaction with the officials, he told them not to leave district headquarters without prior permission. The officials should make field visits at least three days in a week to monitor the implementation of welfare schemes.

Special focus should be laid on industrial development of the district.Later in the day, Prashanth Patil has made a surprise visit to primary health centre in Nekkonda mandal headquarters in the district. He interacted with officials and enquired the patients about the quality of services being offered to them.

He also visited schools in the mandal and interacted with teachers and students. The Collector had lunch with students to assess the quality of the mid-day meal being served to students at ZP Secondary School. He told the teachers and the staff to maintain hygiene and quality in serving the midday meal.

Warangal Urban District Collector K Amrapali has also held a meeting with district officials and told them to keep her informed about the happenings in their respective departments. With the reduction in geographical area, workload would be less and it enables the officials to be more focused, she noted.

After Mumbai and Hyderabad, Warangal Urban is the place where an urban district has been created. The district officials should have complete control over their respective departments, the Collector suggested.Warangal Urban having 11 mandals has more population density. All the departments in mandal headquarters should be equipped with internet connection and other required facilities.

Revenue officials should maintain proper data on land records with survey numbers. Care should taken be in issuing certificates like caste, income and others to the people in a speedy manner. Steps to mark the full tank level of water bodies and to prevent encroachments must be launched, Amrapali told the officials.
