Hyderabad: Alleging that the TRS government has been neglecting to release scholarships amounts and Rs 2,078-crore fee reimbursement arrears, Telangana committee of Progressive Democratic Students Union (PDSU) has stated it would organise huge rallies on October 19 and 20 in all revenue divisions and headquarters of Assembly constituencies in the State. It would also organise “Chalo Collectorate” on October 21 to express their resentment against the government’s apathy.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Friday, State PDSU leaders Jupaka Srinivas and K S Pradeep lashed out at the State government for “playing with the lives” of 14 lakh poor students by wantonly not releasing the fee reimbursement arrears to the private colleges. They also asked the State government as to why it was not releasing the students’ fee arrears though Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has been repeatedly saying that Telangana was a rich State with surplus budget. They also bemoaned that the students were suffering between the private college managements and the State government.
