Khammam: Minister for Irrigation T Harish Rao said that government is committed to provide irrigation facility to farmers through Bhakta Ramadasu Lift Irrigation Scheme (LIS) by November end.He along with Minister for Roads and Buildings Tummala Nageswara Rao inspected the pump house works of the project at Erragattu Tanda under Kusumanchi mandal on Saturday.Speaking to media persons, Harish said that the works of the LIS designed to irrigate 60,000 acres are being carried on war footing.

The government is trying to launch Sri Sitarama Project as early as possible, he said.Referring to the success of Mission Kakatiya programme, Harish said that as many as 3,017 tanks in a total of 4,517 were brimming with water.

Stating that tender process for the Rs 2,000 crore Sri Sitarama Project was completed, Tummala said that administration is gearing up for the land acquisition.Khammam MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, ZP Chairperson G Kavitha, MLA B Laxminarayana, Mayor G Papalal, district collector DS Lokesh Kumar and DCCB chairman Muvva Vijay Babu were among others present.
