Nalgonda: Amid tight security, the last rites of Budige Soni, who died under suspicious circumstances on Friday, were performed at Gattupal village of Chandur mandal in the district on Saturday. The police have imposed 144 Section in the village and did not allow people to come out from the house during the funeral procession. Only family members and relatives of the victims were allowed by the police to attend the last rites. The police also arrested BJP State treasurer Gongidi Manohar Reddy who was coming to the village to attend the funeral. He was apprehended and shifted to Chandur police Station.

Speaking to The Hans India, Nalgonda DSP S Sudhakar made it clear that no person was arrested in connection with the death of the girl. The father of the girl was also questioned by the police as the incident has taken place in their residence. Investigation was going on and culprits would be arrested soon, he added. The Sarpanch of Gattupal village Namani Jagannadham informed that they would continue their protest demonstrations in the village from Sunday demanding Gattupal mandal. We would hold dharna at District Collectorate in Nalgonda on Monday, he added.
