St Martin’s bags 2nd prize in SWITCH
The students of St Martin’s Engineering College, Dhullapally bagged 2nd prize amongst the 65 entries in one of the largest Mechanical and Electrical expos in the country, SWITCH-2016, which was held from October 6 to 10.
Hyderabad: The students of St Martin’s Engineering College, Dhullapally bagged 2nd prize amongst the 65 entries in one of the largest Mechanical and Electrical expos in the country, SWITCH-2016, which was held from October 6 to 10.
Final year students of Mechanical branch N P Satish Raj, K Samatha Reddy, R Kalyan, N Manish, N Ravinder, K Thirumala under the guidance of Professor D V Srikanth have come up with a new innovation in Metallic 3D Printers in the field of Fused Deposition Modelling. The result was declared on October 10 under the event Global lnnovation and Technology.
3D Printing is moving in several directions and all indications are that it will continue to expand in many areas in the future including medical applications. Students claim that the uniqueness of the model was its highest scale of accuracy, lighter and more ergonomic than traditional tooling, resulting in improved safety for the tool handlers and machine operators.
