Bhadrachalam: Sabari Smruti Yatra was taken out in the temple town of Bhadrachalam here on Sunday with religious fervour amidst Vedic scholars chanting hymns and tribals dancing with joy. Kolatam was performed on the occasion.Bhadradri District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu, district judge Vijaya Mohan, Bhadrachalam temple executive officer Ramesh Babu, first class magistrate KKV Bulli Krishna, priests and Vedic scholars armed with portraits of Lord Rama, Lord Lakshman and Sabari led the yatra. Tribal women performed abhishekam of the altar near the flat post (Dwaja Stambham) at the temple with water drawn from rivulet Sabari.

Besides prasadams and flowers, laddu prasadam was distributed to tribals in specially prepared gift boxes. Local legislator Sunnam Rajaiah presented silk clothes to tribal women. Devasthanam Assistant executive officer Sravan Kumar, engineering division engineering official V Ravindranath and temple head priest Podichheti Jagannadhacharyulu and others participated in the yatra.
