Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has instructed the officials soon to make necessary arrangements for the supply of pumpsets required to provide drinking water under Mission Bhagiratha to the villagers.The Chief Minister, at a review meeting on the progress of laying of pipeline works under the mission, directed the officials to enter into an agreement with the BHEL and purchase the pumpsets from them. It may be mentioned here that the government had already entered into an agreement with BHEL for the supply of turbines and other big machinery for the proposed thermal power projects in the State.

KCR said that the safe drinking water supply scheme under the mission would kickstart from dalit colonies in every mandal from. He said the pipeline works should be completed in SC (Scheduled Caste) colonies on priority basis. He wanted the completion of all works, including intake wells, water treatment plants and fitting of motors by December 2017 and ensure that every household was connected with water taps.KCR also instructed the Energy Department officials to complete electric line works in coordination with the water supply departments. Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari, Mission Bhagiratha Vice-Chairman V Prashant Reddy and other officials were present in the meeting.
