Complaints galore against model school principal

Nakrekal (Nalgonda): Former Chief Minister late YS Rajasekhara Reddy had set up model schools for benefit of poor students and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao launched the scheme of supplying premium rice to these schools so as to encourage the poor students.But the corrupt staff is misusing the scheme for selfish benefits. An incident came to light late when some persons shifted 35 quintals of fine rice over the wall to a vehicle waiting outside the compound wall of model school hostel at Korlapahada of Kethepally mandal in Nalgonda district on October 15. Those who observed this, tried to catch the culprits, but they managed to escape along with the rice. When the villagers questioned the school principal Siva Swarupa Rani, she asserted her innocence in the matter.

The committee member and DIET principal Satyanarayana (Nalgonda) said that they found out that the principal was not maintaining either hostel records or mess bills. A report would be submitted to the higher-ups, he said.
Model School vice-principal Thomas alleged that the principal Siva Swarupa Rani has been harassing not only the students but also the staff. The principal and a teacher should maintain a joint account for the school funds. But there was no such joint account since two years. There is no teachers and parents committee and the principal never informs the teachers about the details of funds, he pointed out.
Principal Siva Swarupa Rani harasses the teachers by not paying salaries/arrears on time and she never took even one class, as against the stipulation that she should do so. The principal would constitute committees with members of her choice, against the normal procedure of voting, Thomas alleged.
It was complained that the principal threatens male teachers, if questions her, of filing Nirbhaya case against them.A girl student of Timmapur said that she was forcibly given TC when she was studying Intermediate first year, when she complained about the poor quality of food served in the hostel before an inquiry commission. The girl lamented that she is continuing studies in another college by paying high fees despite coming from a poor family.She demanded action against the principal. Several student organisations and students besides teachers demanded dismissal of the principal or she be removed from the post.
