Nalgonda: The Joint Collector, Satyanarayana Reddy has launched paddy procurement centre at Nalgonda market yard on Wednesday.Speaking on the occasion, the Joint Collector reminded that 50 paddy procurement centres have started purchasing of paddy from Wednesday. Rules would be strictly implemented while weighing the paddy and making online payments to the farmers.

He has also pointed out that a toll free number - 18004251442 has been setup to receive complaints from the farmers, if they face any problem in selling their crop. He has also directed the officials of marketing department to monitor regularly to see there would be no cheating in weighing paddy, which was common widespread allegation from the farmers. He warned that stringent action would be taken against the agents who would try to cheat the farmers in purchasing their paddy.

The government has fixed the price of Rs 1,510 per quintal for A grade paddy while Rs 1,470 for normal grade paddy.Joint Director of Agriculture Narsinga Rao reminded that the price would be decided on the quality and moisture in the paddy. He suggested the farmers to bring the paddy to the market after drying it that would ensure good price to their crop. CLP deputy leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy also attended the programme.

Nakrekal MLA Vemula Veeresham has launched the procurement of paddy at market yard at Nakrekal and at IKP Paddy Procurement Centre of Aitipamula in Kethepally mandal on the day.Speaking on the occasion, the TRS MLA said that the State government has been giving top priority to ensure MSP to the crops of the farmers. Terming Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao as pro-farmer, he has listed out the measures taken up by the government for the welfare of the farmers.
