Nakerekal (Nalgonda): The Congress Legislative Party (CLP) deputy leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Thursday opined that Congress would come to power in 2019 elections by winning 90 to 100 MLA seats.Speaking at a media conference at Nakrekal in the district, Venkat Reddy said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was working against the interests of the farmers as well as the people.

He charged the State government with misusing the funds in the name of celebrations instead of welfare of the poor. The officials were also spending busy half of their working days on the duties of the celebrations and having no time to focus on the public issues due to the attitude of the State government, he added.

Reminding that State was carved out with surplus budget, the CLP deputy leader questioned as to whether the public money was meant for wasting in the name of the celebrations. The governments, which would misuse the public money, would not be re-elected to power by the people. Stating that it was already proved in the history, he pointed out that late N T Rama Rao, who spent public money in the name of statues and spent in ashram, faced defeat from Kalvakurthy Constituency in 1999 elections.

The same fate would be meted out to KCR for wasting public money, he maintained. He strongly criticised the KCR for deciding to construct new Secretariat by spending Rs 1,000 crore. Majority of the blocks in the Secretariat were constructed six years back, no need to demolish and construct new secretariat.

He alleged that the TRS government has utterly failed to implement Aarogyasri and fee reimbursement, which was introduced by earlier Congress government. Stating that double bedrooms scheme has become a mere bombastic publicity, he stated that the TRS government was not even clearing Rs 200 crore pending bills of Indiramma Houses.
