Karimnagar: The formation of a separate Telangana State started to yield fruitful results, said Finance Minister Eatala Rajender here on Thursday.

Criticising the Opposition parties for not utilising the water resources properly in the united Andhra Pradesh, Rajender said, “The tanks with full of water in entire Telangana State is the good answer for the leaders, who questioned about the formation of separate Telangana State. The good results of Mission Kakatiya made the Oppositions leaders are speechless."

The Minister reminded that the parties in the united Andhra Pradesh criticised saying that Telangana leaders do not know how to rule, but by seeing the decisions taken by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao they were in shock. Many leaders in the past remained silent when Godavari water simply flown into sea.

‘Since we had perfect knowledge about our land, we are using every bit of it properly and storing and not allowing water to be flown waste.

This has become possible only because of the Mission Kakatiya Project. In the coming two years, farmers will not face any problem as the groundwater level increased enormously with the steps taken by the Telangana government,’ he added.

Not a single Minister of the earlier governments came out of their chamber when the people were suffering due to heavy floods, Rajender pointed out. He further said that they went to the flood affected areas, monitored properly by making arrangements and rescued the people along with sharing their problems.

Interacting with the farmers, the Finance Minister said, a few months ago the officials insisted that it was not possible to release water until the Sri Ram Sagar Project (SRSP) is filled with 50 tmcs of water.

But for the welfare of the farmers, the TRS government took the initiation and by exerting pressure on the officials water was released due to which several farmers started agricultural operations in their fields and now they are happy.

Some of the farmers from Choppadandi village along with the MLA, Budiga Shoba met the Finance Minister and requested him to take initiation for releasing water through pipeline to Gangadhara, Ramadagu, Choppadandi and Kadimela mandals from SRSP as it is filled with water.

Responding to their request, the Minister said that he will speak with Irrigation Minister Harish Rao and if possible on October 23 he will visit Choppadandi mandal along with Irrigation Minister.
