2BHK SCHEME IN PALAMURU

Mahbubnagar: With District Collector Ronald Rose giving clear instructions to housing and revenue officials to complete the double bedroom houses as early as possible and get ready to hand them over to the beneficiaries by ‘Ugadi’ next year, the officials have accelerated the construction pace and have completed 32 houses out of the sanctioned 2,300 in the slum areas of ‘Pata palamuru’, ‘Veerannapeta’ and ‘Pata Thota’ in the district.

In addition to this, the government has also sanctioned about 325 double bedroom houses at survey number 523 at Kristhanpally. The construction process is going on at a jet speed. The 800 double bedroom houses which were sanctioned at Divitipally, near Jadcherla, which also had legal hurdles in the land acquisition, have also cleared its way and recently local MLA Srinivas Goud had officially launched the construction works by performing groundbreaking ceremony.

While the construction of double bedroom housing scheme in the entire State has not yet picked up at the required pace, Mahbubnagar district is far ahead in executing the scheme at a speedier pace. Earlier in 2014, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao visited the slum areas of Mahbubnagar and was moved by the pathetic conditions the people were living in the Pata Palamuru, Veerannapeta and Pata Thota areas.

The housing and revenue officials were immediately directed to conduct a detailed survey of the region and identify the beneficiaries. Later, the officials formed 23 groups and could identify 2,300 genuine beneficiaries and sent the proposals to the government for the administrative sanction.

“After preliminary survey, we prepared a report and sent it to the government for granting administrative approval. It has taken almost about one year for administrative sanction and now we have speeded up the pace of construction and expecting to complete the project by next year,” said a senior official from the housing department.

Recently, the District Collector had also visited all these areas and directed the officials to speed up the construction process and had set a target of completing all the houses by next year. However, the double bedrooms which were sanctioned in other mandals across the district are yet to be taken up as the revenue and the housing department officials are searching for suitable land.
