Telangana government has been issued orders by the Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday to not proceed with the demolition of the Secretariat buildings until further notice.

The petition seeking orders to stop the demolition of the Secretariat in the name of Vaastu was filed by Congress MLA T Jeevan Reddy who stated that the move would burden the exchequer to the tune of hundreds of crores.

On behalf of the Telangana government, the advocate general said that the construction of a new Secretariat was not regarding the Vaastu reasons but was only planned to facilitate administrative convenience.

Admitting the petition, the Court asked the government to file its counter with all the details by November 10 before going ahead with its plans.
