Hyderabad: State government on Monday entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Government of Haryana to exchange and promote cultural and traditional practices, to know the lifestyles, food habits, and others of both the States.

Tourism Secretary B Venkatesham and Haryana Additional Chief Secretary Dheera Khandelwal exchanged the MoU in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh during a programme ‘Ek Bharat- Shreshth Bharat’ organised on the occasion of birth anniversary Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at Pragati Maidan in Delhi.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said people of the country should not forget people like Sardar Patel, who strived for one India.

“Sardar Patel ensured all the princely states joined Indian Union by talking to them. Because of this there is a strong bonding between people of the country,” said Modi.

Rajnath Singh said Patel was founder of modern India. Because of Sardar Patel’s efforts 565 princely states merged into Indian Union. He said that Patel was modern Chanakya.

Later, talking to media, Venkatesham said that Telangana State government would be entering into similar MoUs with Jammu Kashmir, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. This agreement would be valid for the next four years, he said.
