Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Friday held a meeting with State Legislative Affairs Minister T Harish Rao and Advocate General Rama Krishna Reddy in connection with the Supreme Court’s direction to Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary to file a counter by November 8 on indicating by when he would take a decision on the question of disqualifying Congress MLAs who had defected to the ruling TRS.

The Supreme Court had asked the Speaker to file the counter based on a petition filed by Telangana Congress MLA S Sampath Kumar.

Sources said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao discussed with the Advocate General and the Minister on the stand that should be taken.

The advocate general is learnt to have explained the Supreme Court’s previous judgments relating to similar cases.

The meeting also discussed the possibility of conducting Assembly session in November last week. The Chief Minister would finalise the dates for the session in one or two days, sources said.
