Hyderabad: Telangana JAC chairman Prof M. Kodandaram on Saturday approached State Human Right Commission pleading that the State government was not taking any efforts to contain the dengue related deaths in the State.

The TJAC chief urged the Commission to direct the state government to take immediate measure to provide medical relief to the residents of Ravinuthala village in Bonakal mandal in Khammam which is reeling under dengue fever. He also demanded the State government to come to the help of the kin of the deceased.

The SHRC directed the State government’s Chief Secretary to submit a comprehensive report on the steps taken on to tackle the spread of dengue in Khammam by November 15. It may be noted that Khammam has witnessed 21 dengue related deaths in the last few days.

However, ministers Tummala Nageshwar Rao and Laxma Reddy who visited the village said that only two people died due to dengue fever.
