Hyderabad: Executive Director of Vijaya Bank B S Rama Rao said on Friday the bank’s total business crossed Rs.2,19,606 crore in September 2016, comprising Rs.1,27,785 crore deposits and rs.91,821 crore advances. He was speaking to the media after inaugurating the new premises of Ameerpet branch at Meridian Plaza. Butta Renuka, Member of Parliament, Kurnool (Lok Sabha) inaugurated the ATM of Ameerpet branch.

Rama Rao stated that the bank had a network of 1,985 branches with total delivery channels of more than 3,700 across the country. The Hyderabad region of the bank had a branch network of 82 branches and 60 ATMs spread over the 31 districts of Telangana. In Telengana and Andhra Pradesh, the bank opened 11 new branches during the current financial year, taking the branch network from 180 to 191.

The Executive Director said that the total business of the bank’s Hyderabad region in Telangana State had crossed Rs 9,005 crore as on date. Rama Rao said that the bank had received 18 awards for outstanding performance in the banking industry under various parameters during the financial year 2015-16. Highlighting the recent achievements of the bank, he said that mobile banking users had increased by 7.00 lakhs and internet banking users had increased by 3.00 lakhs since September 2015.

As part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives, the bank had adopted girl children from SC/ST/OBC/Economically Weaker Sections/backward areas/poor families from the age of 5 years onwards to promote girl child education, mostly from rural and backward areas. As on date, the bank had adopted 886 girl children all over the country.
