HC judge lauds GHMC online booking of sports complexes
Justice G Chandraiah of the Hyderabad High Court on Friday appreciated the recently introduced online booking system of sports complexes and city grounds on the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation\'s official website.
Hyderabad: Justice G Chandraiah of the Hyderabad High Court on Friday appreciated the recently introduced online booking system of sports complexes and city grounds on the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation's official website.
The High Court judge on Sunday visited the GHMC Sports Complex at Ameerpet and interacted with the players there. He said the online booking system would be of great help to players for making preparations well in advance.
Many fitness-conscious citizens were keen on taking up sports or some form of physical activity, but shortage of playgrounds and lung spaces in urban areas had been a serious cause of concern and prime constraint in promotion of sports and physical activity among the citizens.
The officials said the GHMC has 12 sports complexes, seven swimming pools, 521 playgrounds and numerous other facilities.
Although many school managements were not averse to encouraging sporting activities among the pupils, the real concern was unavailability of open spaces in the city.
