Hyderabad: Agriculture Secretary C Partha Sarathi on Wednesday directed district agriculture officials to deposit immediately the crop loan waiver amount in to the bank accounts of farmers in the State.

Partha Sarathy held a review meeting on district-wise disbursal of crop loan waiver funds with the agricultural officials of the districts. He asked them to take necessary steps to deposit the funds into the farmers’ accounts.

The Agriculture Secretary directed the officials to take steps to avoid inconvenience to the farmers when receiving loan waiver funds. The officials should coordinate with nodal offices for the details pertaining to farmers.

The State government has released Rs 2,019 crore towards crop loan waiver as second installment under the third phase. The entire process of transactions of money would be done through old nodal banks, he said.

Agriculture officials in new districts should open new bank accounts for the farmers and section in-charges should give information of guidelines of schemes by State and Central governments.

The officials of old and new districts should coordinate to resolve court cases and share information through the Right to Information Act. Funds sanctioned district-wise will be disbursed to farmers under the crop loan waiver scheme.

The State government will take suggestions and instructions from officials for speedy disposal of the funds,” Partha Sarathi said.
