Replying to a query on the reorganised circles and their operations, a senior GHMC official told The Hans India that the civic body would complete the process of setting up new circle offices in March. He said all operations of the newly formed circle offices would function from the existing offices.

"The existing offices would be either divided into blocks or the GHMC would construct additional floors for the newly formed circles," he said.

The official also said the civic body would renovate existing offices and construct new buildings after identifying the lands.

Even though the GHMC has been functioning with 50 per cent of the required staff, there may not be recruitment until the next financial year.
