Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari on Saturday said the next four months are crucial for Education department and degree colleges should show improve performance in terms of results.
Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari on Saturday said that the government was making efforts to improve infrastructure in colleges across the State to impart quality education and skill development of the students.
Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari on Saturday said the next four months are crucial for Education department and degree colleges should show improve performance in terms of results.
Srihari was addressing a workshop for principals of government degree colleges at Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan here. “Unless we achieve better results, the people will not believe in our Education department”, he remarked. He stated the State government was making efforts to revamp and restructure Education department which was neglected by previous governments.
“Education department in our State should achieve number one position at national level in five years”, he said. Measures, he said, to strengthen the colleges with adequate staff, facilities and infrastructure are being taken and the officials were asked to speed up related works, he remarked.
The Education Minister directed the officials to install bio-metric and CC Camera facilities at colleges in four months besides focusing on the standards. It was decided by the government to set up Telangana Knowledge Skill Centres in all the colleges across the State. Efforts are being made to get NAC recognition to 33 colleges in the State besides filling vacant posts of lecturers and others.
The Deputy Chief Minister reiterated that the State government has taken a decision to increase infrastructure and facilities. “We are going to spend Rusa funds for strengthening the facilities in the colleges”, he said, adding that contract lecturers will be regularised as per norms. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has promised to regularise services of contract lecturers and steps are on for doing so, Srihari stated.
