Students protest against sexual abuse case filed against Principal

Students of Government Model School staged a protest on Monday in Nereda of Kuravi mandal in Mahbubad district against the sexual abuse case filed against the principal.

The principal Nageshwara Rao has been taken into judicial custody after a complaint was filed against him by a intermediate first year student. Having approached the district collector, the studnet had stated in her complaint that the Prinicpal had been misbehaving with her some time now and further said she was sexually harassed by him.

Last week, the collector had initiated legal action following which the Principal has been sent to judicial remand.

However, this caused an uproar amongst the student community in the school who condemned the charges against the Principal and claimed that he had never misbehaved with any student adding that he represents a father figure to all of them.

Locking the gates of the school, the students protested that no one would be allowed inside the premises until the collector issues orders for the withdrawal of the case against the principal.
