Special Investigation Team grills prison official in Nayeem case
A prison official was grilled on Tuesday in connection with the ongoing probe into the crimes committed by gangster Nayeemuddin and his followers.
Hyderabad: A prison official was grilled on Tuesday in connection with the ongoing probe into the crimes committed by gangster Nayeemuddin and his followers. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to investigate into the crimes committed by Nayeemuddin and his gang grilled Raja Mahesh, presently working as Dy Superintendent of the central prison at Cherlapally. According to sources, the SIT found Raja Mahesh’s name in the diary of Nayeemuddin.
It is said the official had received several lakhs of rupees as bribe from the ultra for providing all the facilities including mobile phones for his followers inside the district prison at Nalgonda in the year 2003. He was the Superintendent of Nalgonda district prison during that period. Nayeem’s followers were put in the prison in connection with the murder of former Maoist leader Samba Sivudu, who later joined TRS. SIT officials, however, remained tight lipped whether the prison official would be arrested.
