The Railways court has finally acquitted Telangana IT minister KT Rama Rao, Home minister N Narasimha Reddy, Union Minister for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya and BJP leader G Kishan Reddy from the long pending cases booked against them during the Telangana movement.

The Railways court has finally acquitted Telangana IT minister KT Rama Rao, Home minister N Narasimha Reddy, Union Minister for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya and BJP leader G Kishan Reddy from the long pending cases booked against them during the Telangana movement.

All these leaders had participated in the rail roko programmes in 2011 and 2012 demanding for separate statehood for Telangana. The leaders have already been sent to jail and released on bail during the Telangana movement.

Responding to the acquisition, the leaders expressed relief and added that they had staged dharnas in a peaceful manner without indulging in any violence.

Hundreds of Telangana activists were arrested by the railway police for disrupting train services during the period.
