Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be arriving in the city on November 25 evening and will address a national conference of DGPs and IGPs at the National Police Academy in Hyderabad on November 26. The Prime Minister will address the police chiefs of all the States on internal security, impact of extremism and terrorism and challenges to be tackled.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister Kiran Rijiju and others will accompany the Prime Minister. For the Prime Minister’s programme, the State government is making elaborate arrangements including tight security. The State government asked the officials concerned to spruce up the city roads with clean and green drive. Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma on Wednesday held a high level review meeting with top officials of all departments, DGP, Intelligence and others at the Secretariat. Uninterrupted power supply, clean roads with repairs and upkeep, ambulance and health facility and tight security were need of the hour, he said.

He directed the police wing to take adequate measures for complete security even as the SPG of the Prime Minister has already made a visit to the places where Narendra Modi will be visiting. Rajiv Sharma directed the officials to set up hoardings, banners and welcome arches at the main thoroughfares. The State police chief Anurag Sharma was directed to be extra cautious on the occasion to deploy security personnel at all important places.

He instructed the departments to make necessary arrangements at the police academy as the PMO required. The Prime Minister is expected to return to Delhi on November 26. Principal Secretaries M G Gopal, Adhar Sinha, Sunil Sharma, GHMC Commissioner Janardhan Reddy, Finance Secretary Navin Mittal, CP Mahender Reddy and others attended the review meet.
