The demonetization is surely hitting the common public in Telangana very hard particularly with the circulation of Rs 2000 currency notes as people are finding it hard to use the high denomination notes for daily use.

The State Finance department has already sent a letter to the RBI to release small denomination notes. Now, Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma too has conveyed the plight of the people to the two Central team members visiting the state.

Explaining the issues being faced by the daily wage labourers, farmers and small traders due to the currency ban, the Chief Secretary said that even the government faced difficulties as the non availibility of the currency notes affected the pension release and also the payments to the outsourcing staff this month.

In the letter to the RBI, the State Finance department also explained the currency crisis being intensified in the state with the high denomination note for which Mr Rajiv Sharma appealed for a special package.

Stating that Telangana has lost revenues due to the demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes, he urged the RBI team to release the pending central funds and also state share in tax money in order to overcome the financial crisis.
