The Maharashtra GENCO on Thursday entered into an MoU with the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) in Singareni Bhavan, Hyderabad for supply of 10 lakh tonnes of coal for their new thermal power units.

​Hyderabad: The Maharashtra GENCO on Thursday entered into an MoU with the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) in Singareni Bhavan, Hyderabad for supply of 10 lakh tonnes of coal for their new thermal power units.

The agreement was signed by B Kishan Rao, General Manager (Marketing) SCCL, and Aravind K Chandragade, Dy Chief Engineer, Maha GENCO, in the presence of N Srinivas, Executive Director (Coal Movement).

According to SCCL officials, Maha GENCO has been a seasoned client of Singareni and has already entered into a Memorandum of Understanding for 2.26 million tonnes of coal for the Parli Thermal Power Plant.

Keeping in view the consistency in coal supply and better quality management practices by Singareni, Maha GENCO came forward for an agreement for supply of 10 lakh tonnes of coal for their new power projects like Parli 250 MW plant and Korade 8,9,10 units (each 660 MW capacity) on a bridge linkage policy.

SCCL is also reviewing another proposal of Maha GENCO, where it has asked for supply of 1 more million tonnes of coal during this financial year for Chandrapur, Kaparkhada and Nasik Power plants too.
