Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president K Laxman on Thursday called upon the party leaders and workers to take up protest programmes and agitations on a large scale on public issues.

The BJP president was speaking at a meeting of party executive and new district presidents here on Thursday.

Laxman said that the people of the State were angry over TRS government as the ruling party had failed in implementing its pre-poll promises.

The party leaders discussed various issues, including demonetisation, double bedroom houses, three acres of land to SCs, fee reimbursement for students, prohibition, Constitution Day on December 6, death anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar.

The party leaders opined that the people were feeling discouraged over non-implementation of promises by the TRS. Laxman said that there was a need for party leaders to be with the people.

Stating that the opposition parties were misleading the people over demonetisation, Laxman asked the party leaders to hold meetings at districts, mandals and villages to explain the steps of the Narendra Modi government.

For strengthening the party organizationally, the district presidents have been advised to form committees by December 15.

Senior leaders P Muralidhar Rao, state party affairs in charge P Krishna Das, national secretary H Raja, BJLP leader G Kishan Reddy, MLC N Ramchander Rao, MLAs N V S S Prabhakar, national secretary Nagam Janardhan Reddy and others also attended the meeting.
