Hyderabad: Parade Grounds in the city will witness a rare scenario where top leaders of both the ruling and Opposition parties from the Centre would be converging on to a platform to participate in the Dharma Yuddham, a meeting being organised on Sunday by the Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti (MRPS).
Union ministers M Venkaiah Naidu, Bandaru Dattatreya, AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh, Former Union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, CPI general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy, CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury, TDP leaders of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana would be attending the meeting.
However, there is no confirmation about the participation of TRS leaders in the meeting so far. MRPS president Manda Krishna Madiga told The Hans India that they had made a vain attempt to contact Chief Minister KCR.
The main purpose of this meeting is to unite all Madigas and to put pressure on the Union government to introduce the Scheduled Castes (SC) Categorisation Bill in Parliament. The MRPS has been agitating for this for over two decades. The MRPS is expecting large turnout for the meeting.
