Khammam: Supporting the November 28 Bharat Bandh, christened as ‘Aakrosh Diwas’, a call given by the Opposition parties, the district functionaries of the Left parties who met here on Saturday criticised the BJP-led Central Government for its refusal to discuss over demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes move.

People with pressing needs are suffering by standing long hours in the queue. In spite of this, all that they get was less than their requirement, CPI (M) district committee secretary Ponnam Venkateswara Rao said, pointing to the widespread opposition to the demonetisation move taken by the Centre.

Terming the demonetisation of high valued notes is ill-timed and ill-executed, he appealed to people and business and other establishments to support the nationwide bandh on November 28.CPI-ML New Democracy leader Gokinepalli Venkate swara Rao demanded the Centre to reassess the situation as the people in the country are a distressed lot.

The leaders said that Opposition parties supporting nationwide bandh on November 28 will take out a bike rally on Sunday. CPI-ML (ND) leader K Ramaiah, CPI leaders Potu Prasad, Singu Narsimha Rao, Sk Janymiya, CPM leaders Yerra Srikanth and Bandi Ramesh were among others present.
