Gough Road closure deferred
Closure of Gough Road that was scheduled to be closed from December 1 by the Local Military Authority (LMA) has been deferred for a further period of six months up to May 30, 2017.
Hyderabad: Closure of Gough Road that was scheduled to be closed from December 1 by the Local Military Authority (LMA) has been deferred for a further period of six months up to May 30, 2017.
Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Tuesday put on hold the road closure to general public. In a communication sent to the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB), the Ministry of Defence directed the civic body to inform the same to LMA.
In the last few months, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and several MPs had met the Defence Minister on the issue of road closure.
In the last six months there has been no headway in constructing alternate roads by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), save for a survey from Safilguda to East Marredpally.
