Deep depression in Bay intensifies into cyclonic storm NADA
The deep depression over the south-west Bay of Bengal moved north-westwards during the past six hours with a speed of about 25 kmph and intensified into cyclonic storm ‘NADA’ over the south-west and adjoining south-east Bay.
Hyderabad: The deep depression over the south-west Bay of Bengal moved north-westwards during the past six hours with a speed of about 25 kmph and intensified into cyclonic storm ‘NADA’ over the south-west and adjoining south-east Bay. It lay centred at 8.30 am on Wednesday 730 km east-southeast of Trincomalee, in Sri Lanka, according to a bulletin from the Met department.
This system is likely to move west-northwestwards, intensify further, and cross the north Tamil Nadu coast between Vedaranniyam and Puducherry, close to Cuddalore, by the early hours of December 2. Dry weather prevailed in Telangana. The departures from normal in night temperatures were appreciably below normal (3.1O to 5 degree Celsius) at a few places in the State during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Wednesday.
There was no large change in the minimum temperatures in the State. The lowest minimum temperature of 11 degrees Celsius was recorded in Medak. The other recordings in the State were: Hanamkonda 13; Hyderabad, Nizamabad, Ramagundam 14 each; Hakimpet, Khammam 15 each, Mahbubnagar 16; Nalgonda, Adilabad 17 each, and Bhadrachalam 19.
According to the forecast, dry weather is very likely to prevail in Telangana on December 1 and 2, light/moderate rain or thunder-showers are likely at isolated places over Telangana on December 3 and 4. No large change during the subsequent three days is the weather outlook.
