Hyderabad: Minister for Transport Mahendar Reddy on Friday directed banks to ensure that farmers were able to withdraw cash from their accounts without any inconvenience. He was speaking at a review meeting with the collectors and other officials of Ranga Reddy, Malkajgiri and Vikarabad districts here on the situation arising out of demonetization of high value currency notes.
Mahendar Reddy asked officials of agriculture and marketing departments to ensure that farmers got money for their produce immediately after procurement of the crop yield.
The Minister said that farmers were facing difficulties in withdrawing their money due to non-availability of cash at ATMs and directed officials to ensure that they got their money without any trouble from banks. Students and women were also facing hardships due to the cash crunch, he said. He asked officials to see to it that enough cash was available at banks.
