Hyderabad: Justice Raja Elango of the High Court at Hyderabad on Friday directed the police not to arrest the management of a Christian organisation named OM – Operation Mobilisation. The directors of the institution challenged the action of the police in registering a complaint at the instance of one Albert Liel and others. V Pattabhi, counsel for the petitioners pointed out that the complaint was nothing but harassment of the management by certain disgruntled elements.

He pointed out that earlier a detailed enquiry was conducted on the very same charges and a final report was filed by the investigating agencies. He named certain complainants and said one of them was removed from service and as he bore a grudge, he lodged a complaint. Sudheer, counsel for the complainant pointed out that termination of an employee did not disqualify him from being a complainant.

He also pointed out that if the nature of the complaint made out an offence, the source was irrelevant. Venugopal, Government Pleader, pointed out that the allegations were very serious in nature. He said that the management has been making applications to send students to various foreign countries and has been using the same set of names for monies from different foreign agencies. He also pointed out that the missionary was selling copies of the Bible without the authority of law.
