Hyderabad: Rachakonda police on Friday arrested an IT professional for harassing a doctor and others by posting their fake profiles in gay websites.

According to police, the accused person Suresh Thummala, a resident of Bachupally has been working as a technical lead in a software company at Madhapur.

Police said that accused has been in the habit of exploring pleasure in gay activities since his broken marriage. He used to browse Facebook profiles and select the target randomly and then collects the prospective victim’s contact details.

Subsequently, he used to create fake profile of the targeted person by posting the original photographs and post them in various gay websites. The accused person also calls the victim asking whether he was interested in gay activities.

He also posted comments about the targeted person in the Facebook wall of his contacts saying that the victim was a gay, police said. According to police, the accused has been doing this for quite some time with the help of two of his friends. However, most of the victims approached the police only to get their profile removed and did not insist for criminal action against the accused.

But on November 29, a reputed doctor approached the police and lodged a complaint saying that someone had created his fake profile and posted it on gay websites and since then his life has become miserable as he was getting 40 to 50 calls a day from bisexuals seeking appointments for meeting. The complainant sought criminal action against the culprits.
