Kothagudem: The 226th birth anniversary celebrations of composer Raja Tumu Lakshmi Narasimhadas were held on Sunday with religious fervour. Earlier, Narasimhadas’ portrait was garlanded and a Snapanam (holy bathing) was performed in his name.

Later, his portrait was taken to moolavarlu and special pujas were performed to it. A Giri pradakshina was performed with musicians playing music to suit the occasion and devotees playing Kolatam. Narasimhadas idol at the Vista Complex here was also garlanded.

Idol of Bhakta Ramadas near the Kalyanamantapa was garlanded and pujas were performed to the image. Assistant Executive Officer Shravan Kumar, Bhadradri temple Sthanacharyulu KE Sthalasai, main priest Podicheti Jagannadhacharyulu, former member of temple governing body TVGR Krishna Murthy and others took part in the celebrations.
