Hyderabad: Communist Party of India (CPI) has warned the Prime Minister Narendra Modi of serious repercussions in case the latter touches the ‘yellow metal’. CPI and Telangana Mahila Samakya (NFIW) activists staged a dharna at Income Tax Office located at Basheerbagh here on Monday demanding the withdrawal of proposed I-T law amendments and restrictions imposed on poor and middle class women with regard to gold ornaments.

Later they submitted a memorandum to the Income Tax Department Commissioner. Speaking on the occasion, CPI city secretary ET Narasimha has said that the poor and middle class people were facing lot of troubles due to the sudden decision of demonetisation of big notes. He opined that the cashless economy was not possible in the nation as most of the people living in rural areas were not educated.

CPI executive member VS Bose alleged that Prime Minister Modi was extending his support to the corporate companies leaving the poor and middle class people to face the music.
