Hyderabad: In order to create interest among the students in mathematics, the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) has decided to hold Ganith Saptah, (Mathematics Week), in the junior colleges from December 22 and issued the guidelines to the principals in this regard.

The programme is being organised on the advice of National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT). The celebration includes conduct of different programmes and activities related to mathematics. It is being held to celebrate the birth anniversary of the legendary mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan.

The main goal of teaching mathematics in schools is to develop the inner resources of the child. It is mostly related to logical thinking.
