Hyderabad: After good response from the people in Rythu Poru Yatra, TDP Telangana State party is all set to begin another program christened as “Students Poru Yatra” on the problems being faced by the students in the State. In the proposed 45-day Students Poru Yatra beginning from December 9, the TDP leaders would visit 13 universities across the State to elicit their problems.

The yatra, to be organised by the TNSF would begin from Ekasila Park in Warangal town and ends on January 26. Police declined to give permission for the commencement of the program from the Kakatiya University. State party working president A Revanth Reddy, after launching a wall poster of the program, said the party leaders would highlight the failures of the TRS government, including non-release of funds for fee-imbursement and free education from KG to PG.

Alleging that the TRS government has ignored the Education sector, the TDP leader said 3,224 primary schools have been closed down in the name of rationalisation and the government failed to set up one ashram for five to six villages. Wrong policy of the State government led to closure of 270 Engineering colleges during last two years and 94 lakh students are facing problems due to non-payment of fee-imbursement.

Moreover, private colleges have failed to conduct examinations as the government failed to re-imburse students’ fees, he said. He added that the TRS after coming to power had promised to provide one lakh government jobs, but now, it failed to keep promises in the name of TSPSC.
