Warangal: A life convict Rajesh Yadav, who escaped from Warangal Centre Prison, was arrested by a special team of Warangal police Commissionerate CCS wing in Bihar.

Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu has produced the prisoner before the media at Mattewada police station in Warangal on Friday. The escaped prisoner was caught at Sahubigu village under Goshi police station limits in Bihar State and was brought back to the prison.

Yadav, along with another prisoner Sainik Singh, escaped from the prison on November 12 and Singh was caught on the next day at Visakhapatnam. After receiving credible information on the whereabouts of the fugitive, the special team engaged in the manhunt reached Sahubigu to arrest Yadav.

Goshi police and special team had to face resistance from local gangsters, who tried to attack the police. However, they overpowered the hooligans, nabbed Yadav on December 5 and produced him before local court, which issued prisoner transfer warrant to handover the convict to Warangal police.

According to the Commissioner Sudheer Babu, Yadav first went to Secunderabad. He stayed there for three days at his friends’ home and left for Sahubigu, where his in-laws live. The CCS team tracked the prisoners’ movements closely and reached the village to nab him.

The Commissioner appreciated ACP K Eswar Rao, CCS inspector Narender, who led the special team, SI Subrahmanyam, head constables Veeraswamy, Siva Kumar, constables Mahesh, Rajashekar and Raju for arresting the escaped prisoner.
The special team members would be given rewards and their names would be recommended for medals.
