Pocharam distributes Kalyanalakshmi, Shadi mubarak cheques
Participating in a programme at Varni mandal in the Banswada constituency on Friday, the Minister said that such schemes were a great boon for the poor and the downtrodden who were not in a position to get their daughters married. Â
Varni: Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives Pocharam Srinivas Reddy lauded the efforts of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for introducing social welfare schemes like Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak so that girls from poor families could get married. Such types of schemes were not implemented anywhere else in the country, he added.
Participating in a programme at Varni mandal in the Banswada constituency on Friday, the Minister said that such schemes were a great boon for the poor and the downtrodden who were not in a position to get their daughters married.
He distributed cheques worth Rs 51,000 each to 355 beneficiaries of the Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes who turned up from Banswada, Birkoor, Kotagiri, Nasrullabad and Rudrur mandals. The cheques were issued in the name of the mothers of the brides.Several parents of the brides, peoples’ representatives and district leaders were present on the occasion.
