Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samiti MP Suman on Saturday took objection to JAC chairman Prof. Kodandaram’s assertion that Telangana had achieved statehood solely due to the sacrifices made by students.

Suman told the media that Prof Kodandaram was trying to distort the history of the statehood movement. TRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao had made Prof. Kodandaram as Telangana Joint Action Committee chairman for the cause of statehood. Therefore, it was wrong on the part of Prof. Kodandaram to attribute statehood to just students’ role. KCR had transformed many students into leaders. “I became an MP”, he pointed out.

All sections of people had supported the statehood movement, which followed protracted struggle by KCR and his team, resulting in the formation of the new State. Suman also found fault with Telangana Telugu Desam working president Revanth Reddy for making remarks against IT Minister KT Rama Rao with regard to taking selfies.

Taking selfies was not wrong as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu were also taking selfies, he said. Revanth should tell what developmental works he had got completed in his Kodangal constituency till date, Suman said.
