The local people found a crocodile near the village on Saturday morning which created a sensation. Some of the youth swung into action and succeeded in tying it with ropes, safely handing it over to the officials of Forest department. 

Nalgonda: The people on Saturday caught a crocodile and tied it with a rope when it was spotted in Chityal village of Adavidevulapally mandal in the district.

The local people found a crocodile near the village on Saturday morning which created a sensation. Some of the youth swung into action and succeeded in tying it with ropes, safely handing it over to the officials of Forest department.

Chityal village is located on the bank of Tail pond of Nagarjuna Sagar Project and storage of 3 Tmc of water in the project has resulted in the back water reaching nearer to the village.

With this, crocodiles in the waters were entering the residential areas when they come offshore. A week ago, a similar incident had also taken place in the village, and when they enter in the night time it had created panic among the villagers. The captured crocodile had so far killed 15 animals in the village.
