Warangal: Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari asked the officials to ensure safe and academic environment for the girl students studying at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBVs) in the district. The Deputy CM expressed anger at the poor conditions at KGBV situated at Ellanda village of Wardhannapet mandal in the district.

‘The conditions inside and outside the school are congenial for the students to study,’ he said. At a programme held on Sunday evening, Srihari distributed woollen blankets to students of the school. Speaking on the occasion, he questioned the school authorities why they failed to apprise the local elected representatives about the incomplete infrastructural works.

He wanted the authorities to immediately take steps to complete construction of the school building and its compound wall. CC road should be laid to connect the school with main road with side drains, saplings should be planted on the school premises, he added. The Deputy CM offered Rs 5 lakhs from his constituency development funds along with Rs 5 lakhs from local MP’s funds to complete the construction works. Funds from Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan should also be used for the purpose, he directed.

Srihari expressed pleasure over District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil adopting the KGBV, while directing the local police officials to ensure security of the students and take up patrolling at the school during night hours. ZP chairperson G Padma, MP P Dayakar, MLA A Ramesh, District Collector Jeevan Patil and others were present.
