At a review on the State’s strategy to overcome the currency crisis with the officials at Pragathi Bhavan, the Chief Minister said greater awareness needed to be created to promote use of swiping machines, ATMs, credit, debit cards and other mobile applications. 

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Monday directed the officials to do more to promote cashless transactions in the State.

At a review on the State’s strategy to overcome the currency crisis with the officials at Pragathi Bhavan, the Chief Minister said greater awareness needed to be created to promote use of swiping machines, ATMs, credit, debit cards and other mobile applications.

There were some Apps, which required no Internet connectivity. Awareness should be created among the people on these modern applications and technology, he stressed.

KCR stressed the need for the Banks also organising programmes. He o felt that there was a need to open more ATMs and the existing ones should upgrade their servers immediately.

Stating that Ibrahimpur village had become a model village by becoming cashless transactions village under Siddipet Assembly segment, KCR hoped that the soon the entire constituency would become first constituency in the State where all transactions would become cashless.

The Chief Minister said since Siddipet Assembly segment was taken up as a pilot project for the cashless transactions, ATMs, swipe machines and other required equipment and infrastructure was made available in the constituency.

He wanted the officials to identify the bottlenecks for the implementation of cashless transactions system and try to clear them.

Finance Secretary Ramkrishna Rao and Municipal Administration and Urban Development Secretary Naveen Mittal and others were present at the meeting.
