Hyderabad: Mayor Bonthu Rammohan has announced Rs 2 lakh as ex-gratia to the kin of A Durgaiah, who was killed when the parapet wall of Chandralok complex collapsed in Secunderabad on Monday night.
The officials seized the complex and barricaded the premises in order to avoid any further unfortunate incidents.
Mayor B Rammohan said that there are about 150 shops in the Chandralok complex, which were constructed 40 years ago.
He further said that the incident occurred due to negligence of the complex owners and that they did not take any safety measures and did not maintain the building properly.
He added that the building has been seized by the civic body and electricity officials were asked to disconnect the power supply.
